About Us

Papalino's was started in July, 1995 by the children of Lino and Lizabeth Buzzelli. Debbie, Lissa, and Joe grew up in the deli business as Lino owned Tony's Market in Burbank, CA. for 30 years. Lizabeth, an outstanding Italian cook, passed on some of her traditional Italian recipes, so that many people can sample a little taste of Italy.

Lino is the businessman of the family. He was instrumental in helping his kids start the business, as well as helping with the day-to-day operations of the business. He has always believed that giving people great food at a reasonable price was the key to a successful food service business and he passed on this philosophy to his kids. Lino and Lizabeth always helped the community and taught their kids to do the same. Debbie, Lissa, and Joe firmly believe in giving back to friends, customers, and the community what God has given to them.

Today, Joe is still running the business with the support of his family. Lizabeth passed away in October 1997 and Lino is 90 years old and still comes in and makes deli salads and assists in any way that he can.

Papalino's was recently remodeled and the dining room expanded for more seating. We maintain a small Italian market, a deli that specializes in Italian meats and cheese, a section of Argentine food, and a restaurant. The restaurant cooks include two gentlemen who have been there from the beginning. Manuel, the chef, has over 25 years experience in Italian cooking. He has incorporated some of the traditional Buzzelli recipes with creations of his own. Geraldo is the Salad cook. He prepares your salad as well as makes all of our dressings. These men work hard and are very talented. Our Pizza cook makes all the pizza dough and sauce. He will make your pizza the traditional way, with thin crust and full of flavor. The Buzzelli family thanks them for their continued love and loyalty to our business.
